I've been building machines since I started tattooing in '89. My machines run on low voltages, usually between 4-6 volts. My cutback machines never run over 500 milliamp, usually about 250. My shaders are around 1-150 milliamp. This means they don't run hot. Anything with a draw over 500 milliamp heats up a lot. I avoid band-aids such as o-rings, so these machines are ready to run wide open. I find that o-rings mask sounds that come from flaws in design, or laziness in spring setup. All coils are 8 wraps unless specified.

All machines have hand-wrapped coils, hand cut armature bars, yokes, binding posts and contact screws. Most frames are custom finished, either polished and blued (steel) or polished brass. The clear coating on the coils is chemical resistant and easy to clean. It's also UV resistant. very tough stuff. I like silver contact screws, not only because they look cool, but they seem to oxidize a bit less than copper. All machinery is warranted for the life of the original buyer, you pay shipping to me, I pay shipping back to you.

Cutback Supreme. $225.00 This is a lot like the ones Mike Malone made before he cast his own frames. I've used his Rollomatic every day since August 1995. The design came from Paul Rogers' Mad Bee. I think these type of cutbacks are the best liners in existence.*

My Jonesey. $250.00 I used to call it the "Copperhead" but that was cheesy. I just like the look of naked coils on these machines. Blackened steel, brass, copper and silver look great together.

Here's a one-off that I've been using regularly, it runs sweet and I don't want to part with it. Sometimes I get hard up for money, though. I'd like $450.00 but make an offer. It's a #875 Mickey Sharpz Microdial. It's now a true cutback, with a longer armature bar. It has 8 wrap coils but runs a little stronger as the Sharpz coils are a bit taller. Everything is tapped and threaded SAE. The original parts come with the machine should you want to restore it.

   * Please keep in mind this is a replica of a machine Mike Malone  no longer makes. I make them as a tribute because  he made a great machine. I would like to fill the void he left when he made his new frames. It's a tribute to him and not meant to compete as a knockoff.
